Our first full year of using Peerscroller in schools and colleges has shown that young people really are engaging with the app to learn about whatever they need to know. Which is why we want to make Peerscroller even bigger and better, so we can change as many young lives as possible.

What’s wrong with the way young people learn today?
There’s a problem with the way young people get answers to the really important questions. Nearly half of Gen Z turn to social media first when they have a question.
And at first glance, that makes a lot of sense – it’s quick and easy to find what they’re after. And TikToks and Instagram Reels are short, engaging, relatable, and authentic.
But there’s a fatal flaw – they don’t know what they can trust.
Between sponsored content, an algorithm that rewards excitement over truth, and even intentional disinformation, there’s no way to know that they’ve got the right answer. Now add in deepfakes and AI hallucinations, and the problem gets even worse.
There are reliable sources of information out there – like school PSHE lessons. But the challenge in the age of smartphones isn’t providing the right information – it’s grabbing people’s attention in the first place.
The resources that we can trust haven’t kept up with the pace of modern life or the way we prefer to learn. And when the world moves fast, they can’t always keep up with trending topics like AI, fast fashion, social media, and loot boxes.
That’s where Peerscroller comes in.

The goal of Peerscroller is to give young people a go-to source of information on the things that really matter in their lives – and one that they know they can trust.
We put reliable, fact-checked information on essential topics into a format that really works for digital natives like Gens A and Z: bitesize TikTok-style videos, presented by authentic and relatable young people.

Right now, we’re primarily delivering Peerscroller via schools and colleges. Staff can use Peerscroller videos in lessons or for one-to-one support, while learners have the Peerscroller app in their pocket 24/7.
