Meet our Panel Members

José Picardo

Founder of Azimuth

José Picardo is the founder and Principal Consultant of Azimuth, an education consultancy working with schools, multi-academy trusts, and national organisations. He moved into consultancy after 25 years in education, most recently in independent school senior leadership as a Deputy Head. He is the author of Using Technology in the Classroom (Bloomsbury) and serves as an ISI school inspector.

Azimuth's work spans strategic consultancy, professional development, and leadership coaching, with a current focus on AI, digital strategy, and the judgment these ask of school leaders.

Sue Atkins

Parenting Expert | Broadcaster | Author | Speaker Strategic Advisor

Sue Atkins is one of the UK's leading parenting experts, an internationally recognised speaker, broadcaster and author, with over 30 years' experience supporting families, schools and organisations.

A former Deputy Headteacher, she specialises in helping parents and educators navigate childhood in the digital age with confidence, balance and practical solutions. Sue is the creator of Navigating the Digital Jungle™ and Together at the Table™, two initiatives that encourage healthier family conversations around technology, relationships and wellbeing.

She is delighted to serve on the Peerscroller Advisory Board, contributing her expertise to help children thrive both online and offline.

John Rees

Educational Advisor, Trainer & Coach

John is passionately committed to improving the learning and life chances of children and young people through the professional development of individuals and organisations.

Having taught for 12 years, latterly as a senior leader, John led the transformation of a theory-driven, evidence-informed health education research project from Exeter University.

An independent educational advisor since 2006, John currently works with Local Authorities, schools, and commercial organisations to support health and school improvement across the UK and overseas. He is co-founder of ‘Safeguarding Scenarios’.

Rachel Smith

Digital Learning Consultant

Rachel brings 25 years of classroom experience to her work as a digital learning consultant, having previously served as a secondary pastoral and digital leader.

She is passionate about the intersection of great teaching and technology, and now advises schools and school leaders on digital strategy and professional development.

An Apple Professional Learning Specialist and Google Certified Educator, Rachel works with schools nationwide to help pupils and teachers get the most from technology in the classroom.

Claire Chettiar

Education Consultant

Claire has worked in educational strategy, publishing and product management for over 20 years, spanning all ages from pre-school to adult learning, and delivering solutions in countries all around the globe. She has worked in several innovation teams and thrives in the space between educationalists and technologists: helping to translate the needs and ambitions of one and the capabilities and possibilities of the other.

Claire is a passionate ally for the SEND and Neurodiverse communities, both in a personal and a professional capacity.
