By sharing real-world insight, emerging trends and expert knowledge, our members help ensure our content stays relevant, responsible and impactful for young people.

Meet our Panel Members

José Picardo

Founder of Azimuth

José Picardo is the founder and Principal Consultant of Azimuth, an education consultancy working with schools, multi-academy trusts, and national organisations.

Azimuth's work spans strategic consultancy, professional development, and leadership coaching, with a current focus on AI, digital strategy, and the judgment these ask of school leaders.

He moved into consultancy after 25 years in education, most recently in independent school senior leadership as a Deputy Head. He is the author of Using Technology in the Classroom (Bloomsbury) and serves as an ISI school inspector.

Sue Atkins

Parenting Expert | Broadcaster | Author | Speaker Strategic Advisor

Sue Atkins is one of the UK's leading parenting experts, an internationally recognised speaker, broadcaster and author, with over 30 years' experience supporting families, schools and organisations.

A former Deputy Headteacher, she specialises in helping parents and educators navigate childhood in the digital age with confidence, balance and practical solutions. Sue is the creator of Navigating the Digital Jungle™ and Together at the Table™, two initiatives that encourage healthier family conversations around technology, relationships and wellbeing.

She is delighted to serve on the Peerscroller Advisory Board, contributing her expertise to help children thrive both online and offline.

John Rees

Educational Advisor, Trainer & Coach

John is passionately committed to improving the learning and life chances of children and young people through the professional development of individuals and organisations.

Having taught for 12 years, latterly as a senior leader, John led the transformation of a theory-driven, evidence-informed health education research project from Exeter University.

An independent educational advisor since 2006, John currently works with Local Authorities, schools, and commercial organisations to support health and school improvement across the UK and overseas. He is co-founder of ‘Safeguarding Scenarios’.

Rachel Smith

Digital Learning Consultant

Rachel brings 25 years of classroom experience to her work as a digital learning consultant, having previously served as a secondary pastoral and digital leader.

She is passionate about the intersection of great teaching and technology, and now advises schools and school leaders on digital strategy and professional development.

An Apple Professional Learning Specialist and Google Certified Educator, Rachel works with schools nationwide to help pupils and teachers get the most from technology in the classroom.

Claire Chettiar

Education Consultant

Claire has worked in educational strategy, publishing and product management for over 20 years, spanning all ages from pre-school to adult learning, and delivering solutions in countries all around the globe. She has worked in several innovation teams and thrives in the space between educationalists and technologists: helping to translate the needs and ambitions of one and the capabilities and possibilities of the other.

Claire is a passionate ally for the SEND and Neurodiverse communities, both in a personal and a professional capacity.

Kirstin Stevens

Director of The Novacene

Kirstin Stevens leads Nudge Education Online, a fully online alternative provision, opening in September 2026 for learners aged 11–18 who do not attend school.

Alongside that, through The Novacene and Novus Learning Network she advises schools, trusts, Local Authorities and learning organisations on using AI responsibly: where it genuinely helps, where it doesn't, and what safeguarding and data protection actually require.

She brings a practitioner's view of what works for young people for whom mainstream provision hasn't helped.

Charlotte Watson

Founder and Professional Tutor at Wonderlearn

Charlotte Watson is an experienced educator of 30 years, a former Deputy Headteacher and founder of Wonderlearn Tuition, which she has led for over ten years. She has worked across the spheres of teaching, school leadership, consultancy, writing, speaking and tutoring, supporting thousands of children and families. Her wider training includes qualifications and certification in mindfulness and mindfulness for children, alongside work as a children’s yoga practitioner and in the course Philosophy for Children. 

Her own challenges with ADHD have also shaped her understanding of how differently we can learn. Learning to swim at 47 and becoming a scuba diver just three years later taught her much about confidence, persistence and the power of learning at any age. 

She is particularly interested in how technology, education and wellbeing intersect, and in ensuring that innovation involving children is grounded in real-world experience and research.

Andrew Hampton

Education Training Consultant

Andrew stepped away from Headship after 18 years in 2021. He founded the Girls on Board approach in 2017 and the Working with Boys programme in 2023. He is the author of When Girls Fall Out (2021), Working with Boys (2023), and How to Run a School (2025).

His ideas centre around the central importance of mutual respect in the relational cultures of pupils in school and how adults, both teachers and parents, can support those cultures to be consistently dignified, compassionate and empathetic.

  • The Panel is a group of professionals working across safeguarding, education, and youth wellbeing who help shape Peerscroller content. It brings together real-world expertise to ensure our resources stay relevant, informed, and grounded in current practice.

  • It exists to bring together trusted voices to strengthen the safeguarding and PSHE content on our platform Peerscroller. The aim is to reflect emerging trends, challenges, and best practice across education and youth settings.

  • We invite professionals with experience in safeguarding, education, pastoral care, youth work, or related fields. Members join in a personal capacity based on their expertise and insight.

  • The Panel connects through a private LinkedIn Group and meets twice a year. The LinkedIn Group is used to share updates, resources, and professional insights between members in a flexible, ongoing way.

  • There are no formal requirements or set commitments. Members are invited to contribute when they feel they have something relevant to share, such as insights, research, or emerging trends.

    All members are expected to follow the Peerscroller Advisory Panel Code of Conduct, which will be provided upon joining and sets out the principles for working together within the Panel.

  • Yes. Members receive an official Advisory Panel logo to use on LinkedIn, websites, email signatures, and other professional materials. Any references should accurately reflect the Panel’s advisory role and not imply endorsement or regulatory authority.
