Resource Pack: Mental Health Awareness Week 2026

Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 (11th - 17th May) is focused on one key idea: action.

Awareness and action go hand in hand. When we learn more about mental health; recognising early signs, understanding what support looks like, and knowing how to look after ourselves, we’re already starting to take action. As more people do this, it helps build stronger, more supportive communities where mental health is prioritised. This year’s theme is an invitation to take that next step in a way that works for you.

This mini resource pack features three videos:

  • For you – building simple ways to check in with your own mental health

  • For someone else – how to show up for a friend or someone you’re worried about

  • For all of us – how local action and wider systems both play a role in improving mental health for everyone

Your action can start small, but it still makes a difference.

For Yourself

What helps you when everything feels a bit too much? Amy guides you through building your own “Mental Health First Aid Kit”; a simple set of go-to calming tools, activities, and people you can rely on when things feel overwhelming. It’s about figuring out what works for you and knowing you’re not alone, with support always there from friends, family, or Childline

For Someone Else

Ever noticed someone saying they’re fine… when they’re clearly not? This video shows how one simple phrase can help someone feel truly heard. Instead of brushing past their feelings or shifting the focus away, it’s about giving them space to open up properly, without pressure or minimising what they’re going through.

For All of Us

Ever feel overwhelmed by everything happening in the world and unsure what you can actually do? This video explores how small actions in your school, community, or everyday life can contribute to bigger change, while recognising that wider systems and those in power also need to step up for better mental health in society.
