Resource Pack: Let’s Be Blunt
In collaboration with Let’s Be Blunt, this pack for KS4-5 learners explores knife harm, personal safety and where young people can turn for support.
Through two short videos, young people are encouraged to think about what it means to be knife conscious, recognise potential risks and understand what support is available if they or someone they know has experienced knife harm.
Despite kitchen knives being commonplace, they’re actually responsible for up to 46% of sharp-instrument homicides. How can we reduce the risk of these knives?
Ben explores the merits of rounded tip knives, being knife conscious, and encourages young people to look ahead for university and consider which knives they buy.
If you or someone you know has experienced knife harm, knowing where to turn can make a real difference.
Grace explores the different types of support available after experiencing knife harm, encouraging young people to talk to someone they trust and seek help when they need it.
Ready to take action?
The Let’s Be Blunt pledge is a simple way to support prevention and help create safer homes and communities. By taking the pledge, you’re committing to practical steps that can help reduce knife harm, including choosing safer alternatives, learning more and sharing what you know.
