Teacher Portal Updates October 2026

We’ve been making a few changes behind the scenes to make the Teacher Portal easier to navigate and quicker to use. From a fine-tuned dashboard and clearer Collections, to a whole new way of supporting young people, have a read and discover what’s new.

A slicker Dashboard

We’ve made several small improvements to the Dashboard, making your learner activity and engagement data easier to understand at a glance.

The Number of Learner Accounts graph now uses clearer, more distinguishable colours for each year group, making it easier to tell different groups apart.

We’ve also made year group labels, dates and trending tags easier to read.

Browse content more easily

We’ve given you more options to help you find the right video.

With the new update, you can filter content by multiple Key Stages at once, making it easier to find videos that works across different groups of learners.

The Categories ribbon has also been reimagined, with clearer groupings and colour sets to differentiate between KS2 and KS3-5 content.

And for teachers working with younger learners, we’ve introduced the option to tailor your feed to display younger content by default, making it easier to browse age-appropriate videos. With Tailored Feed selected, you can still access content for older learners by changing your filters, and you can always switch off Tailored feed in your Settings whenever you wish.

A clearer Video Player

We’ve made a few small changes which make using the video player more intuitive.

Save is now Save to Collection, which we feel is clearer.

We’ve renamed the ‘Help’ button to ‘Tools’ to better reflect its purpose, making it clearer that this is where you’ll find useful features within the video player.

You’ll also have a couple of extra playback speed options – 0.75x, 1.25x and 1.75x, giving you more flexibility when watching content.

When sharing a video, you’ll now see clearer options for sharing with colleagues or adding to a presentation or sharing with learners and parents to view in the app, with a separate copy button for each.

Collections made simpler

Saving videos to Collections is now more streamlined, with the main actions - Create New Collection and Save to Collection - easier to find at the top of the pop-up. This is particularly helpful if you’ve got a lot of Collections, and saves you scrolling all the way to the bottom to save your choice.

We’ve also given the Collection tabs clearer names, so it’s easier to understand which Collections you've created, which have been shared directly with you (or you’ve downloaded from us), and which belong to your colleagues.

Here are the name changes:

-        My collections 🡺 Made by me

-        Shared with me 🡺 Shared with me / Downloaded

-        Other staff’s collections 🡺 Colleagues’ collections

And we’ve fixed a bug. Previously, if you tried to create a new Collection directly from the video player, pressing the space bar in the Collection title could pause or play the video instead of adding a space. This meant creating a Collection with a multi-word name wasn’t possible from the video player.

That’s now been rectified and you can name your Collections however you wish.

Liked videos now have their own space

Liked a video and want to come back to it later?

Liked Videos now has its own tab in the main navigation, rather than being tucked away under Help & Support. You’ll find it in between Collections and Strategy Packs.

Manage Learners more easily

If you work with a large number of learners, you’ll notice some useful changes to All Learners.

You can now switch between Grid View and List View, making it easier to scan through larger groups. You can also sort learners alphabetically or by when their accounts were created, from newest to oldest. Plus, Select all lets you select every learner matching your current filters.

Account statuses have also been made clearer, changing from “Logged in” and “Never logged in” to Account activated and Account not activated.

New! Mobile access for Youth Workers

And finally, we’re extending the ways Peerscroller can support learners in different settings.

Support Worker accounts can now be created for staff working with learners in smaller groups or alternative settings. Support Workers access Peerscroller through the app, so colleagues requiring this, more flexible, use can now access Peerscroller videos using a phone or tablet to support their outreach work or when visiting different delivery locations such as family homes.

It’s another step towards making Peerscroller flexible enough to support conversations wherever they happen.

That’s a wrap!

These are all small changes, but together they should make the Teacher Portal feel clearer, easier to navigate and more useful day to day.

As always, if you spot something that could work even better, we’d love to hear from you.
