How are Corpus Christi Catholic College using Peerscroller?

Corpus Christi Catholic College has seen Peerscroller make a real difference; from helping a Year 9 student seek support for ADHD, to guiding form-time discussions around suicide stress after staff noticed learner trends on the app. We spoke to Amy Thompson, Director of Personal Development, about how they’ve embedded the platform so successfully.

Tips from Corpus Christi Catholic College for Embedding Peerscroller

Build Peerscroller into regular form-time discussions

“Peerscroller is delivered once a week in form time to all KS3 form groups. We follow the analytics of what learners are viewing and share these in forms. Awareness week videos such as Mental Health Week and Suicide Prevention Week are also delivered across KS3 and KS4."

Peerscroller is delivered weekly to all KS3 form groups, making it a consistent part of personal development rather than a one-off activity. Using a Think, Pair, Share approach helps students build confidence and encourages discussion around sensitive topics.

Let learner voice help shape content

“PSHE Ambassadors view videos and discuss issues around school and select a video they feel would benefit year groups, for example asking a mate for money back.”

Learner voice plays an important role in how Peerscroller is used across the school. By reviewing videos and discussing key issues affecting their peers, PSHE Ambassadors help guide what content is shared with different year groups. This collaborative approach ensures the content reflects real learner experiences while encouraging ownership of personal development topics.

Engage parents and embed sign-ups

“The most effective strategy has been sharing Peerscroller posters with parents at Parents’ Evenings and Options Evenings. Parents have been highly supportive as the platform is safe and free from toxic or misleading content.”

Encouraging students to join the platform has been supported through a range of practical strategies, including engaging parents and integrating sign-up into everyday school routines. Sign-up has also been reinforced through Google Classroom homework tasks, assemblies, and reminders in student planners, ensuring the message reaches students through multiple channels.

Keep staff informed and confident in delivery

“Staff are informed weekly during staff briefing on the topic of Peerscroller form time input.”

Staff engagement is supported through regular communication and clear guidance on how Peerscroller fits into the school’s personal development provision. Teachers also know they can suggest topics or request support from the Peerscroller team if particular issues arise.

“Peerscroller is having a very positive impact on students. Videos open up discussions and all themes are relevant to year groups. Even students who are absent with illness access Peerscroller for support and knowledge whilst off school.” - Amy Thompson
