Quality of Life Upgrades in Peerscroller v2.1
At the start of the academic year in September, we rolled out Peerscroller’s biggest every update, version 2.0, which was packed full of features to help school and college staff collaborate more easily.
We’re working on some big features behind the scenes that we expect to launch in early 2026, but this term, were rolling out a smaller update in version 2.1.
Version 2.1 brings a package of quality-of-life features designed to make Peerscroller even simpler to use, saving you time and making it smoother for learners to access the videos that matter to them.
What’s new in Peerscroller 2.1?
New: Direct Links to Videos in the App
You can now link learners directly to Peerscroller videos through your existing school/college platforms.
Whether you’re using:
Emails
Teams / Google Chat
PowerPoints/Slides
Word Docs/PDFs
Social Media Channels
Google Classroom (or other tools)
By simply pasting the ‘Share with Learners’ link, you can now direct a learner to the exact video you want them to watch, in any format you’d like.
This makes it super easy to integrate Peerscroller into your existing workflow, so learners get the content they need, exactly when you want them to see it.
New: Browse Tab Shows Newest Videos First
The Browse tab on the Teacher Portal now displays videos from newest to oldest, so you’ll always see what’s just landed.
No more digging around or scrolling through older content; the newest uploads are right there, front and centre.
This means you can spot timely or seasonal videos instantly, making it easier to plan around awareness weeks or current discussions (a handy reminder to explore our Resource Packs if you haven’t already!). And when showing content in class, learners get videos that feel relevant and ‘of the moment’, which helps boost engagement.
New: Mapping Tool Now in the Teacher Portal
Our PSHE Resource Mapping Tool, which matches videos to curriculum objectives and themes, is now accessible directly from the Teacher Portal. No more digging through guides. Just click the new Mapping Tool tab on the left-hand menu, and you’re in.
It’s faster for lesson planning, shows clear links to learning outcomes, and keeps everything in one place with no extra clicks. Plus, the tool now includes Key Stage 2 content, so you can plan confidently across a wider range of learners.
If you haven’t explored the Mapping Tool yet… now is the perfect time!
New: Event-Based Push Notifications
Learners will now receive push notifications when new videos drop that we think may be especially relevant, for example:
Awareness weeks
Seasonal pressure points
Mental health check-in moments
Starting/ending term transitions
They tap the notification, and the video opens instantly - easy! These notifications give learners gentle, timely prompts when they may need them most, making content feel supportive rather than forced, while building awareness and engagement beyond lesson time.
